I'm a mom of two great kids, one that pees standing up and one that does it sitting down and a wife of a great man who can talk but mostly chooses not to. I love to write, mostly to amuse myself and friends. I love Christ, but am 'the worst of sinners'.

Even a hypochondriac gets sick sometimes...

Okay, so I spent much of last night wondering if I'll ever learn. JJ had a virus on Tuesday, but was fine afterwards. Yesterday she complained of a stomach ache before her soccer game, but I assumed it was because she'd eaten too much cake at a birthday party that morning and thought nothing of it, even when we took her to Golden Corral for dinner. We were both tired and fell asleep snuggling. Around 10 pm, I woke to sights and smells that usually accompany dysentery. That poor child had vomited Golden Corral ON ME while I slept. (side note: remind JJ to chew her food a bit better!) So I took her into my bed and forced Dad to clean up the carnage while we went back to sleep only to wake this morning with a sweet smelling, snuggly boy on one side and a foul smelling, very upset girl on the other. As I rallied the troops for an all morning cleaning before Dad abandons ship at 12:30, I kept thinking that something about this all felt very familiar. AND IT DOES. it finally came to me that about 3 years ago, Z was in his room complaining of a stomach ache after having had a stomach virus three days prior. I picked him up, stood him above me on the ladder of his bunkbed, and tried to reason with him that he was probably just hungry or tired. that of course, was a fatal flaw since 1) he was above me and 2) my mouth was open when he vomited into my face. note to self: even though Z and JJ are both a bit hypochondriac, they WILL occassionally actually get sick. okay, off to shower 7 or 8 times and prepare for a long day imprisoned at home with cranky kids while Dad escapes. -Less Amused
